With Nyhart since 2011, Ashley is responsible for organizational development, talent acquisition, performance management, policy recommendation, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and all functions that deal with the needs and activities of Nyhart's employees.

Prior to joining Nyhart, she worked with large, highly regulated organizations. She has been essential in employee relations, benefits administration, developing employee programs and policies, wellness initiatives and other HR related functions.

Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis

Nyhart provides actuarial consulting services to a broad array of healthcare clients. We are looking for an ASA to assist in project management and review in Atlanta, Chicago, or Indianapolis. This position provides excellent opportunities for professional development and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Actuarial funding valuation, accounting valuation, and compliance for postemployment benefit plans
  • Analysis of defined benefit and defined contribution retiree healthcare plans
  • Cost projection and analysis
  • Manage client relationships

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience
  • Successful completion of 4 or more SOA exams required, ASA preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using ProVal software preferred

Healthcare Actuarial Analyst

Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis

Nyhart provides actuarial consulting services to a broad array of healthcare clients. We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our team, In this positon, you will expand your technical knowledge and industry expertise, consult with clients, and have the exam support needed to successfully achieve your SOA designations.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete actuarial valuation work as prescribed under GASB 74/75, ASC 765-10, and ASC 965-10
  • Calculate expected Incurred but Not Reported (IBNR) reserves and project health plan premium rates for self-insured groups
  • Perform and analyze calculations for special healthcare modeling projects
  • Communicate with client contacts on day-to-day tasks, data gathering, and delivery of results
  • Develop consulting skills by attending client meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 2-3+ exams passed (preferred) and working toward ASA designation
  • 2-3 years of experience in actuarial field
  • Working knowledge of actuarial valuation software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills

Pension Actuarial Analyst

We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our team, In this positon, you will expand your technical knowledge and industry expertise, consult with clients, and have the exam support needed to successfully achieve your SOA designations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and ensure timely delivery of individual benefit calculations
  • Reconcile and analyze data, including performance of gain/loss analysis and assumption review
  • Prepare valuation reports and related required reporting for both PPA and Non-ERISA/Church/Government plans
  • Assist with special projects, such as plan design, plan terminations, lump sum windows, multi-year projections, and conversions
  • Analyze and improve internal processes and procedures to increase accuracy, consistency, and efficiency
  • Interact directly with clients regarding benefit administration, pension regulations, and general retirement consulting topics through email, phone, and on-site meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 2-3+ exams passed (preferred) and working toward ASA designation
  • 2-3 years of experience in actuarial field

Pension Actuary

We are looking for a Pension Actuary to deliver expertise and administrative services, contribute to special projects, and provide quality support to clients.

Essential functions of the position include:

  • Complete and review annual valuations
  • Perform necessary calculations and analysis on special retirement projects
  • Communicate with clients via teleconference, meetings, and presentations

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in math, actuarial science, or related field
  • ASA in pursuit of FSA designation

  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills
