Randy Gomez

Randy Gomez is an actuary and principal of Nyhart leading the health care actuary team. He specializes in Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) 43, GASB 45, Taft-Hartley funds, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) 106, and incurred but not reported (IBNR) claims, among other health care actuarial issues.

 

Randy consults to both public and private employers in areas including:

In addition to Randy's healthcare expertise, he has a long history consulting to public and private pensions regarding plan feasibility, experience studies, long-term cost projections and defined benefit/defined contribution comparisons.

 

Randy conducts technical research, fulfills speaking engagements, provides expert testimony, and conducts internal and external training on many matters of pension and health care benefits.

 

Before joining Nyhart, Randy served as a pension and health care consultant at Towers Watson and was a pension actuary at Hazle Hurst and Associates.

 

Randy is married, has 3 children and is an avid bicyclist and reader.
