Qualifications or certifications: Accredited Retirement Plan Consultant through The Society of Professional Asset-Managers and Recordkeepers, Series 63 and 65 designations, and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) through the Center for Fiduciary Studies.

A consultant specializing in Retirement and Financial Education, 401(k), Fiduciary Liability, Investment Strategy, and Retirement Plan Design, Eric Roberts serves a variety of roles for Nyhart’s clients and leads the firm’s education services and fiduciary team.

Eric held a wide range of financial investment roles prior to joining Nyhart in 2006. He was a financial adviser for Merrill Lynch and Salomon Smith Barney, as well as owning his own broker-dealer and RIA firm.

A leading retirement and financial educator, Eric is consistently recognized by clients and plan participants for his ability to make complex financial topics easy to understand.

Eric consults to new and existing 401(k) plan clients helping them to understand plan design issues, fiduciary responsibility, as well as changes in legislation that affects their plan.

At a senior level, Eric is often called upon to provide investment consulting to 401(k) committees, dealing at a company level to assist members in establishing criteria for selecting investments within 401(k)/retirement plans, investment choices, and providing ongoing monitoring of their accounts.

Eric was also involved in creating Nyhart’s Next Generation 401(k) bundled defined contribution solution, representing the investment portfolio and choices that are available under that solution, as well as representing services Nyhart offers with respect to record keeping, administration, corporate governance, and plan document design.

 

Married with two daughters, Eric is a member of the East 91st St. Christian Church, is a founder and board member of a not-for-profit organization Helping Challenged Children, which raises money to help families purchase equipment and adaptive devices for children 18 years of age or younger with mental or physical challenges. He enjoys traveling, golf, mountain biking, and sports.
